Yesterday in New York, LG officially launched its new flagship device, the LG G7 ThinQ. It is the successor to the G6 launched in early 2017. Finally, after a long gap after the V30’s launch last year, we have the new G7 ThinQ. Yes, there is a change in the name with the new G series model comprising of the ThinQ. ThinQ is based on the AI features of the camera on the LG G7.
LG G7 Specifications
Looking at the specifications, we get a typical 2018 flagship with a 6.1 inch QHD+ LCD with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The USP of the device lies in the display as it features a Super Bright display which increases the brightness of the screen up to 1000 nits. Of course, the screen comes with a notch which can be made visible or invisible as per requirement. The processor under the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845; the Adreno 630 is responsible for one of the best mobile gaming graphics experience.
The phone comes in two variants; one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and the other with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 8.0 out of the box with LG’s skin on top.
The audio is the segment where LG comes out all guns blazing. It features a 32 bit HiFi DAC which converts digital audio files to an analogue signal; the user gets the best music experience through earphones. This year the company is claiming that this new device serves as a boombox with an increase in sound through the bottom firing speaker.
The rear camera setup is also an interesting one with two 16MP lenses one with an aperture of 1.6 and another with an aperture of 1.9 placed on the back just above the fingerprint scanner. On the front, we get an 8 MP selfie camera with an aperture of 1.9. Portrait mode is there in both rear, and front camera and lots of other AI-based tweaks are seen in the camera department of the LG G7 ThinQ.

Now as of pricing nothing is known yet and when will this device launch in India remains a mystery. Given LG’s track record they will probably launch the G7 in India after a couple of months with hopefully this time at a reasonable price.
